As the compliment to movement we have stillness. Through Contemplatio or deep-mindfulness, we examine the practices of not doing, and the discipline of effortless-effort. Contemplatio, then, is the embodied inquiry into the lived nature of paradox present within all of our lives as expressions of complexity. Listening alone is enough. Gentleness of mind, and softness of heart is cultivated through practice and grace. Wisdom arises in a natural and spontaneous way.
Mindfulness, as a growing remembrance in response to the exigencies of Western life, is about reshaping, re-aligning, and transforming ourselves, via a transcendent resonance with the greater ecological Mind, and, as such, plays an important role as in the modern world, as we struggle to respond to every growing culture stress and societal disenchantment.
“The physician must be able to tell the antecedents, know the present, and foretell the future — must mediate these things, and have two special objects in view with regard to disease, namely, to do good or to do no harm.” ― Hippocrates
